James Made It!!!!

James, his co-worker Eric, and Eric's son Caleb all made it to the top of Mount Rainier last Thursday. They were one of only 2 teams to make it that day. It was 100 mph winds and it was so bad, they couldn't stand on the summit. James wrote his name in the book and ate Pres. Fredrickson's candy at the top. He said it was an awesom experience and probably the hardest physical thing he's ever done. James is awesome! And thanks to Eric and Caleb for taking him.
James and Caleb (James says he's a 24 year old lean and crazy animal!)

James and Eric (james says he's as tough as nails and maybe a little bit more)

54 pound packs!

4 miles up and 6000 feet. Getting ready for the first glacier.

About to begin another 3200 feet to Camp Sherman.

Camp Sherman - 9200 feet. They slept here til midnight.

Made it to the top! 14,411 feet. Caleb and James.

Caleb and Eric.

This is a closeup to show how iced over Eric's helmet and clothes are. Crazy!
