First things first...

First,
Happy Father's Day to all you dads out there.  I am so grateful for the dads in my life.  I am so grateful for my grandpas.  My mom's dad is the only one living now and he is such a great man and has lived such an amazing life.  i think of my dad and his dad in Heaven and the good times they must be having.  I am grateful for my dad and all he taught me and the values he instilled in my life.  I am grateful for James' grandpa and the Patriarchal Blessing he gave me.  I am grateful to his dad and that he taught James how to be a great father.  I am especially grateful for James and the father he is.  Right now as I am typing this he is in playing a game with all of the kids that involves skittles and cards. :)  I am so grateful that he has been so unselfish in his willingness to be a dad over and over and over again and that he continues to be the great dad day after day after day.  I am grateful he has wanted to grow our family the hard way.  This adoption has been one of the craziest rollercoasters ever and he has been the foundation always.  This is my most favorite picture right now.  It so speaks of who he is. - So happy to be daddy and grandpa!

These two babies are just one year apart.  They will grow up the best of friends!  I remember when James and I were dating he would ask me things like "what would you do if..." and they would be scenarios about kids and different situations.  I am sure he was trying to get a feel for what I would be like as a mother and I really don't remember any of my answers - they must have been okay, he did marry me - but what I do remember is his comments about what he would do.  I remember being so impressed with his wisdom and knew he was well taught through example of his own father.  When we tell our older kids the best thing they can do is to look for and date a father or mother for their kids, we truly mean it.  I dated and married the best father for my kids!  We have been so blessed because of him.  We all love you James!

Second,
Congratulations all around!  These boys all graduated - except for Shane, Cam, and Jacob in the bottom pic.
But way to go Jeremy, Caleb, Jason, Tony, Ben, and Spencer who is not pictured.

We had a little get together for Tony on Saturday and it was very clear that he had many to help him grow to be the valiant young man he is today.  we are very proud of you and love you Tony!

Third, congratulations to all the kids who finished school.  They all received awards from 4.0 to athletics to music to crossing guard to heart of the school to courage to attendance - just kidding, they're my kids after all and we make up reasons to miss school! :)  Becca also received the leadership award and the military's Honor, Courage and Commitment Award.  Tony, Cam, and Ali also received their Master Scriptorian awards.  Good job kids.

Fourth, we brought kids home from Ethiopia!!  I am gong to record all the details in anther blog, but these are pics of the welcome home and the last week with them.  They are doing great and the rest of the kids are doing awesome.  They are being so helpful!  we are so happy!

And fifth, Ali had a birthday and so did Tony.  Tony's pics will have to wait til next time because we haven't technically done his breakfast or dinner.  and because we took him shopping, I haven't gotten pics of his gifts.  But, Ali had her birthday right before we left.  She got everything a little early.  She was a good sport about us being gone for her birthday.  after all, she had Shiloh and Addy here and knew we would bring home two new little bros for her. :)

What a girl!

Wow, we've been busy!  We love you Shane and I am sorry it took me so long to get his updated.  You are awesome!
